In the art room, I accentuate the positive. Using the Beatty rules that we have in place school wide, I reward students that are on task and showing "integrity" (part of our Beatty motto). The exciting "Art Incentives" are listed below.
If a student is not following the rules, they will:
Step 1. Receive a verbal warning.
Step 2. Have a private conference with Mrs. Katz.
Step 3. Receive a note that will be sent home to be signed and returned the next day.
For more serious infractions such as hitting, bullying, or destroying school property, a Beatty citation will be written. After three school citations, the student will be required to meet with the administration before returning to school.

class rewardsEach class is able to score 0-5 points, with 5 being the best. A score of four=1 Beatty Badge, a five=2 Beatty badges. Classes collect these badges for class parties, extra recess, etc. Classes receiving a score of a five also get their teacher's name put in a raffle once a month for extra art time!

table rewardsEach table has the opportunity to work as a group for table points. The table with the most points at the end of class will receive Beatty Bucks ($1) which can be used at the "Art Store" four times a year.

individual rewardsStudents following school rules and staying on task may also earn Beatty Bucks ($5) on their own. These Beatty Bucks may also be used in the "Art Store" four times a year.
